TRANSLATION EUROPE DIRECT CONFERENCE

Esther Sanz, Head of Section for European Information and Documentation of the Government of Aragon has said in the conference this morning at school:

"We are going to talk about the European Union but first, I want to congratulate you for your great work that you have done. I have been visiting to both blogs: Eurocartujos and Eurolacadiera and I have seen very interesting, I have seen that you have connected all notices about the European Union in different press, very well. The citizen iniciative is really interesting.

The beginning is after the Second War World, Europe was destroyed and people started to suggest new ideas  and prosperity ideas.

About the blogs that you have seen, we want show you our offer that is unify the age in all countries for became MEP.
We want know what do you think about our iniciative ans if you can answer to us.
The 9th of may in 1950 the Schuman declaration was produced and from then it has been the 9th of may the day of Europe.

As we have said the European Union has been formed slowly. The different entrances of the countries to the E.U. promote different changes. One of the main indicents was the fall of the Berlin Wall. But in the E.U. It can´t enter the first that want to, but countries which have a democracy and a juridical state, a market economy and have to incorporate european legislation.

EU contributes as well with assistance to outside countries´ development. And as you can see in the graph their contribution is above that of Japan and the US".

Final Conclusion

We have done a hard work to be here. We have been all this time very stressed because of the exams. We have been combining the competition and school work and it has been very difficult, nevertheless it has been a very good experience because we have learnt a lot  about he European Union.
We think 1 picture is worth more than 1,000 words, and that is why we have filmed a lot of videos. Young people prefer videos and direct pictures to long texts. In addition, texts and information are really easy to copy and paste from the Internet. We have created and written the blog ourselves. We have taken photographs and filmed videos mainly away from our school to make public the European Parlament and the elections.
Being a team and getting a goal is a huge challenge. We all are very different and it´s difficult to agree in ideas or matters sometimes.
We have learnt a lot about tolerance, respect, patience...

We thank all our school, teachers, school mates... because we needed a lot of help for the blog. We planned activities and needed permissions and the company of teachers to visit other schools, to go to the pictures exhibition, to travel to Brussels, to travel to Germany... We cannot forget the interview with the MEP Veronica Lope Fontagne!

We are very glad of our effort and we hope that we will be able to explain our project to the European Parliament in Strassburg.

Trip to Germany

A member of Eurolacadiera, visited Germany last week, and she spread  the importance of the European Parliament and the languages.

Here you can see the local newspaper of Celle.

Vote!

With this video we want to explain better than with words the intention of this blog because every citizen has the right of decide about his/her future. Europe takes part in its citizens lives, so it´s our responsibility to vote the person who is going to take part in important decisions for the future of the european citizens.

European Union: a world.

Decisions of the European Union concern all the member countries and we are lucky to take part of this community. The European Union makes laws for all European countries and it is really important for all of us, the "Eurocitizens". Here you have a poster we have made to see how many countries are involved in Europe with different cultures and customs.

Mediation

The European Union has got a great potential as a successful mediator and peace builder in conflicts around the world and because of that is should reinforce its conflict resolution capacities, according to Nobel Peace Prize laureate Martti Ahtisaari.

The IES Pablo Gargallo has a mediation group that works in the improvement of the elimination of conflict and coexistence, they try to improve and take care of "healthy" relationships. Below, you can see the video that the Institute mediation group made, in which our colleague Carmen Dieste appears playing the piano.
We introduced this video to  the competition and we are really happy because we did a great work.

This video has just been awarded as you can see below:

More meetings

On Tuesday March 25th we were at the center Joaquín Roncal and we visited the exhibition project Kohtaamisia carried out by ten Aragonese painters. The project immersed in new imaging technologies uses the e-mail art as a tool for artistic communication.

As we explained, the curators of the exhibition Carmen Perez-Ramirez and Pilar Catalán, President and Vice President of ADCA, Kohtaamisia is much more than the perfect union between the Finnish painter Helene Schjerfbeck and speaking Swedish poet Edith Södergran, Kohtaamisia symbolizes women's encounters with women, with men, with children, with themselves, with love and with the earth. We also took advantage of this opportunity to spread our project among the attendees.
